Important Announcement: Venue and Date Changes for Wild in the City Festival

Due to unforeseen challenges, we have had to make some changes to our plans, including the venue and dates.*

The second edition of the Wild in the City Festival celebrating people of colour in nature will take place in Croydon woodland, at Pinewood Scout Centre in on 15-16 June 2024.

Join us for two exciting days of learning, doing, and being in nature as we challenge myths about our relationship with nature and give space to voices less heard in the environmental field.

Over 2 days and 1 night of camping, we will celebrate people of colour in nature and step closer to decolonising the environmental field, through a programme bringing together a nature loving community of people of colour, for talks, walks, fireside conversation, natural history, bushcraft, art, yoga, mediation and much more.

Our home for the festival is a secluded woodland, full of birdsong and a tranquil lake and stream. Nestled in the Addington Hills area of Croydon, London’s largest area of heathland and a beautiful natural setting on the doorstep of open countryside.  Easily accessible from East Croydon station.

Conference for Black and POC led organisations

A collective of Black and POC led nature/outdoor organisations will co-host a conference, to discuss the politics of leading whilst Black in the sector, why our work matters, the challenges and opportunities.  This is a unique opportunity to hear from pioneers opening up activities and engagement in a space which has traditionally seen us as not belonging.
