The Natural Health Service
As part of a consortium we are launching the Natural Health Service in Croydon this autumn to encourage residents to use nature to improve their wellbeing. The Natural Health Service provides and promotes activity in the nature to support residents’ emotional, physical and social health, and by working with GPs, reducing demand on the NHS.
Participants will be able to access a wide programme of nature-based activities including gardening, conservation, bushcraft, nature-based counselling, ecotherapy, volunteering, walks, running, cycling, nutrition and cookery.
The programme is open to everyone over 16, further activities will be added for children and young people in the coming months. There is also a social prescription element where GPs can refer people as an alternative option.
We are proud to be working in partnership with Good Gym, The Conservation Volunteers, Good Food Matters and Wheels for Wellbeing. Our pilot programme is funded by Croydon Council.
