February Hike – Thorndon Country Park, Essex

Date: Sunday 8th February 2026

Meeting point: Brentwood train station

End point: Brentwood train station

Distance in km: 11km (approx)

Start and end time: 10.15 meet to start hike promptly at 10:30 am – 3:30pm (End times are approximate. We suggest not making arrangements close to the end time)

Join us for a relaxed ramble through Thorndon Country Park as we coax Spring out of hiding. One of the nicest green spots in Essex, this park is the perfect mix of fresh air, woodland, and a few Muntjac and Fallow deer along the way. Thorndon Hall once anchored a grand deer park and the surrounding ancient woodlands still hint at centuries of stories. We’ll stroll past old oaks, open meadows, and peaceful trails as we try to spot a few early signs of Spring.
Please dress appropriately for the weather and wear sturdy footwear – in light of recent wet weather we encourage you to bring waterproofs to keep you warm and dry. We recommend bringing a minimum of 1ltr of water and a packed lunch with you.

Cost: £5

(For information: Attendee thresholds are Min. 3 / Max. 18)

Please note: This hike is for People of Colour.

Places are limited so please book your place as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
