This October, Wild in the City is celebrating Black Natural History Month with a series of events that spotlight the Black presence in nature in the UK. Join us for guided walks, inspirational talks, and a gathering of Black nature leaders who are shaping the present and future of our participation in the land.

On this special walk to celebrate Black History Month, we’ll be visiting a Black-owned estate and enjoying a guided tour of the re-wilded grounds of Wild Oakingham in South Oxfordshire.

Join us for a beautiful hike in the Cambridgeshire countryside.
On this special walk to celebrate Black History Month, we’ll be visiting a Black-owned farm and enjoying a tour and talk by David Mwanaka, a Zimbabwean who has been farming in the UK for over 15 years.
We will hike from the meeting point to the farm and be treated to a tour and talk with David, followed by a picnic lunch before making our return journey to the station.

Join us for a day in which we explore the power of trees. Activities include tree identification, fire by friction, reflections by the fire on what trees mean to us, and enjoy stories about trees.
