Join us for a walk in North London to welcome in the New Year! We will be walking by the River Lee and then through part of Epping Forest. River Lee and the surrounding marshes offer diverse habitats for different species of plants and wildlife. Epping Forest includes some ancient woodland together with grassland, heath, streams, bogs and ponds. The main tree species in the forest are oak, beech, hornbeam and silver birch. On a clear day, we will have some fine views over London on our journey. There are some hilly sections and muddy paths in places.
Please dress appropriately for the weather and wear sturdy footwear – please note for wet weather we encourage you to bring waterproofs to keep you warm and dry. We recommend bringing a minimum of 1ltr of water and a packed lunch with you. We will stop for lunch in Epping Forest where there will be access to toilets.
