DESCRIPTION:Date: Sunday\, 12th April 2026 \nMeeting point: Oxted Rail Station – Trains only run once an hour in the morning\, so please plan your journey accordingly. \nEnd point: Oxted Rail Station \nDistance in km: 16 km \nMeeting: 10.15am \nTimes: hike will leave promptly at 10:30am and finish approximately 4:30pm (End times are approximate. We suggest not making arrangements close to the end time) \nCome and join us on a hike where we hope to enjoy ancient woodlands swathed with bluebells\, in a beautiful area of the North Downs. We’ll weave our way through stunning landscape and some of the best views across the Surrey Hills and the Downs. \nThere will be a stop at the pub just over half way through for toilets and a hot drink. \nPlease dress appropriately for the weather and wear sturdy footwear – in case of April showers\, we encourage you to bring waterproofs to keep you warm and dry. DESCRIPTION:March Hike – Sandwell Valley Country Park  \nDate: Sunday 15th March 2026 \nMeeting point: RSPB Visitor Centre\, Sandwell Valley \nEnd point: RSPB Visitor Centre\, Sandwell Valley \nDistance in km: 10/11km \nMeeting: 10.15am \nTimes: hike will leave promptly at 10:30am and finish approximately 3:00pm (End times are approximate. We suggest not making arrangements close to the end time) \nJoin Wild in the City for a relaxed walk through Sandwell Valley Country Park. This circular walk begins and ends at RSPB Sandwell Valley\, taking us through the nature reserve and woodlands via several pools and lakes and visiting the remains of the historic Benedictine priory. We’ll explore the heathland that the Sandwell area gets its name from and have plenty of opportunities to take in the early signs of spring and spot an array of waterfowl. \nThis walk will be mostly flat\, following mainly paved routes and well-maintained paths. Some of the paths may be muddy after wet weather. \nPlease dress appropriately for the weather and wear sturdy footwear – we encourage you to bring waterproofs to keep you warm and dry. We recommend bringing a minimum of 1ltr of water and a packed lunch with you. \nThis walk is accessible by bus from Birmingham City Centre (route 16/16A). There is a small car park close to the start of the walk.
