People of Colour in Nature Meetup – 3 hour walk: Kenley to Coulsdon, 18th Nov 2018

£4.00

This walk is part of our People of Colour in Nature Meetup, creating opportunities for people of colour to enjoy nature.

Sunday 18th November 2018, 10am – 1pm (approx)

Join us for a walk through beautiful areas of the southern edge of London.

This is an 8 mile walk, which will take approximately 3 hours, more if we have a pub visit. (We suggest not making another appointment close to our end time as it is approximate)

Meeting at Kenley train station our walk will take us into the North Downs, through chalk grassland, woods and open fields. We’ll follow a route through Kenley Common, Coulsdon Common, visiting Chaldon Church (known for a large 12th century wall mural), then back towards Happy Valley (a Site of Special Scientific Interest) and Farthing Down Common before ending at Coulsdon South train station.

The walk will take us on sections of the London Loop, North Downs Way and Tandridge Border Path

We have the option of stopping at the Fox pub on Coulsdon Common on the way back, for warm drinks and a roast – cosy next to their log fire, before walking 45 minutes back to the train station.

For those that want to make it a shorter walk, there are exit points at Coulsdon Common with buses to Croydon.

Please wear clothing appropriate for the weather and sturdy footwear. Paths may be wet and slippery in places.
