Nature Connectors Coordinator [APPLICATION DEADLINE EXTENDED: 25th APRIL]

Wild in the City runs a successful Nature Connectors programme training volunteers from BME communities to feel comfortable and confident in nature and to lead others in activity in nature. We teach woodland skills, exploring local green spaces with campfire conversations.  We are looking for a part time Coordinator to administer the programme and manage volunteers. The Nature Connectors Coordinator is a vital role in our mission to promote the benefits of connection to nature.  Initial funding for this role is part time, 4 hours a week.

The role will be responsible for;

  • handling bookings and enquiries
  • promoting the programme
  • administration
  • organising events
  • liaising with participants and volunteers

Support our woodland programmes

We’re a small but very busy team. We’ve grown a lot in the last year and are seeking help to coordinate our woodland based programmes, supporting wellbeing through connection to nature.

We’re looking for volunteers who love organising and getting things done. If you’re a natural implementer with experience of organising and putting plans into action we’d love to hear from you.

Events Volunteer

Help us plan and deliver our outdoor events.

We’re looking for volunteers with lots of enthusiasm and energy to help with;

  • event planning
  • liaising with volunteers and partners
  • social media
  • preparing promotional materials
  • liaising with venues

Operations Volunteer

We currently have 3 core programmes, the Natural Health Service, Nature Connectors and our Bushcraft courses. We’re looking for operations support to help manage our day to day running and ensure efficient service provision.

We’re looking for someone who loves implementing and getting things done to help:

  • coordinate the planning, preparation and promotion of services
  • plan timetables and scheduling
  • liaise with partner organisations

Frequency: Weekly

Hours: approx 7 hours

Finance and Fundraising Volunteer

We’re looking for help with financial admin and longer term planning, so that we have more capacity to deliver our workshops.

We’re looking for someone with experience of book keeping or accountancy to:

  • help with book keeping
  • draft fundraising bids

Mapping project: Green Ward Walks

Are you interested in geography, tech, mapping and encouraging people to spend more time in green places?

We’re looking for volunteers to help within our Green Ward Walks project mapping and creating routes linking green spaces within Croydon wards.

We want to create an easy to follow trail which introduces residents to green spaces on their doorstep, which also points out things of interest they might expect to see there.  Volunteers are needed to help plan routes and then walk and gps tag local trails.

The trail will be associated with an annual day event with walks and activities in green spaces.

Netwalking:  Walk leaders needed

Netwalking-1Do you love to walk and talk?  Help local business people network in nature to support wellbeing.

We need volunteers to help us organise and run monthly Netwalks for local professionals to make connections and network whilst enjoying a walk in a local park.
